Salon-Level Hair from Roots to Ends: Scalp Spa & Blowout Secrets

In the previous article, we discussed in detail how to properly wash your hair, emphasizing the importance of scalp care for maintaining healthy hair. Today, let’s talk about how to do a scalp spa at home.

With the right methods and products, you can achieve salon-like results without spending a fortune. I’ll also teach you how to blow-dry your hair without damaging it because even if you’ve taken good care of your scalp, improper blow-drying techniques can undo all your efforts.

How to Take Care of Your Scalp? Do a Scalp SPA at Home

You don’t have to go to the salon every time for a scalp spa. You can do it yourself at home. Here’s how:

  1. Keep your scalp clean. Use shampoo to thoroughly cleanse the scalp and hair roots. Use a scalp scrub once a week with a massage brush for deep scalp cleansing.
  2. Hydrate your scalp. Use a safe scalp essence.
  3. Choose the right scalp essential oil (e.g., hair growth, oil control) for your scalp’s main concern and use it with a massage technique to nourish your scalp.
  4. For scalp massage, we recommend using a head massager. It not only relaxes the tense scalp but also promotes blood circulation to the head, which leads to healthier hair growth.

How to Dry Your Hair?

Don’t: Do not rub your hair vigorously with a towel, as this will damage the hair cuticle.

Do: Use a soft, absorbent towel. After combing your hair, wrap it in the towel and squeeze out the moisture.

Explanation: The reason why you shouldn’t rub your hair is that the conditioner and hair mask will close your hair cuticles, and rubbing will mess them up, making your hair quality worse.

How to Blow Dry Your Hair?

Adjust the hair dryer: Blow dry on high heat and low speed first, then set the style with cold air. Increase the temperature of the hair dryer moderately and use a lower airflow to make your hair smoother. High temperatures will not damage your scalp. Keep the hair dryer 15cm away from your scalp.

Blow-drying order: Blow dry from the roots down first, drying the roots and scalp, then blow dry down the hair, and finally the ends. You don’t need to completely dry the ends, 70-80% dry is enough.

Styling: Blow dry the bangs in the opposite direction from the roots with hot air and set them with cold air. Then blow dry the side hair from top to bottom and from back to front in the direction of the hair cuticles. After blow-drying, the hair will automatically contour your face. Blow dry the top area in the opposite direction for more volume.

How to Choose a Hair Dryer: What Makes a Good Hair Dryer?

  • A good hair dryer should have concentrated airflow to dry hair quickly.
  • Stable airflow output to avoid fluctuations or sudden changes in airflow, ensuring even and reliable drying results.
  • Advanced temperature control technology to ensure precise and controllable temperature during drying, avoiding the risk of overheating or burning hair, protecting hair keratin, reducing color fading, and protecting the natural moisture balance of hair.
  • Be sure to choose a negative ion hair dryer, as negative ion hair dryers use negative ion converter technology and nano fullerene negative ion release technology to generate natural ecological negative ions, which can quickly dry hair during blow-drying without damaging the health of your hair.
